When and if new equipment is required, this is handled in two ways. The first by replacing uneconomical repairs for new and the second by request by the customer to replace existing equipment or to purchase for new projects.

When costing a new unit against a repair S & N will value the replacement on cost, materials of construction, availability of spares and age of the equipment. All this information will be included on the 'Quotation' and 'inspection-Failure' report.

If the customer needs a new unit because the repair is uneconomical or obsolete and the lead-time for a new unit exceeds the time request, then usually a hire unit can be made available to the customer if the customer does not have a back up to hand. This facility is subject to availability.

When the customer requires new equipment for various reasons, other than through a received repair S & N will supply a formal 'Proposal' based on information received. If this information is insufficient S & N will submit a 'Pump Request Questionnaire' to the customer to enable a correct Proposal to be submitted.
